EI 1370 CT Termination Kit

A high voltage termination kit that provides a junction to join the copper/aluminum tape to LPS® EI 5038 Lightning Cable

The LPS® EI 1370 CT Termination Kit is designed to meet the requirements of IEC 62561-8, using cable as a down conductor. The kit is specifically for LPS® EI 5038 Lightning Cable – to join to a 3 mm x 25 mm copper/aluminum tape. The high voltage termination kit is capable of withstanding 100kA.

The termination kit provides a dry, waterproofed environment for the LPS® EI 5038 Lightning Cable termination. It contains a HT Stress Release Device to prevent electrical arc at the cable’s termination point. The LPS® EI 5038 Lightning Cable termination method is deployed by leaving the upper end of the outer conductor floating while the lower end is grounded to earth. Therefore, the outer conductor is always at the same ground potential as nearby objects. The deployment screens out electric fields produced by the inner conductor and eliminates side flashing.

How it works

The 3 mm x 25 mm copper/aluminum tape is screwed to the Clamping Disk of LPS® EI 1370 CT Termination Kit. Then the HT Stress Release Device is inserted through the LPS® EI 5038 Lightning Cable which will be terminated to the Clamping Electrode. The whole assembly is then placed on LPS® EI 1270 FRP Mast – a 1.2 metres in length cylindrical tube with outer diameter of 70 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. This allows a neat in-line mounting of the termination kit.
