The LPS® SF – 50/240 is suitable for critical and essential equipment with a maximum load of up to 15 amps. It is a reliable and cost-effective surge protective device that protect electronic and electrical equipment against lightning induced surges.
Following extensive R&D, LPS® SF – 50/240 has been created deploying state-of-the-art engineering technology. This Malaysian-made device is designed with high surge capacity to suit even the most lightning prone regions in the world.
It provides 50,000 amps per phase of surge protection in common and differential modes with instantaneous response. This ensures that your equipment is protected from lightning surges from direct lightning strikes, electro-magnetic couplings, the switch of power networks as well as from inductive loads.
LPS® SF – 50/240 is also equipped with a LED indicator which provides users with visual monitoring on protection status. Furthermore, they are armed with a NO/NC dry contact for remote monitoring on protection and power supply status with user-friendly RJ II connector.
How it works
The LPS® SF – 50/240 deploys multi-stage protection with MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) for primary defence. It is then linked by a second-stage surge attenuate component and finally to a MOV to provide unsurpassed performance in lightning surge protection.
This device also contain a thermal cut-out fuse that assist in avoiding fire hazards when dangerous thermal run-away occurs.
When surges occur, the device will switch to a fully conductive state and divert current, after which it will reset automatically. However, under excessive surge conditions, the device will short circuit to earth, securing the protection of the equipment.
